Canine CarrierIf your pooches go wherever you go, you may be thinking about investing in a couple dog sling carriers. But shopping for a sling carrier can be confusing. There are so many different brands and types on the market that it’s hard to pick between them. Here are some things to look out for if you’re searching for that perfect sling carrier.

  • Not all slings are equally comfortable. Before making a purchase try on several with your dog in them to find the one that best fits your needs.
  • Avoid carriers that leave dogs hanging by their crotches. This position can put pressure on their spines and cause major discomfort, and even bone problems.
  • Get a sling that’s easy to use. You don’t want to spend an hour getting your sling together. Find one that you can situate quickly.
  • Your dog will get heavier and longer as he grows. Find a sling carrier that can stretch and grow with him.
  • If you have a heavier dog, make sure your carrier can support its weight. Don’t buy a carrier designed for a miniature poodle for a bulldog.

Yorkshire terrier

For Yorkshire terriers raincoats and jumpers aren’t merely a luxury—they are a necessity. The soft, silky coat of the Yorkshire terrier is more similar to a human’s hair than it is to most dog fur. Because these little dogs, which normally weigh between 5 and 7 pounds, have such fine hair it is not recommended that they be exposed to cold temperatures or rain for extended periods of time. In fact, canine experts recommend that Yorkies wear a dog raincoat or protective jumper when taken out in rainy weather.

Owners of Yorkies should also know their pooches may be susceptible to several other health problems, including liver problems, low blood sugar, dental problems, allergies and inflamed pancreases. Due to their size and fragility, these little pups should also be protected from heavy objects and rough handling. Yorkies that are well-cared have life expectancy of 12-15 years.

Raincoats

Does your dog like to walk in the rain?  I can’t hardly get Candy out when it’s raining.  She stands by the door with her dog collar on and I almost have to pull her out.  She’s really funny about that.  I found these great dog boots that she will wear and after I put them on she will go out and not mind it so much.  I am really excited about that because I really don’t want any accidents in the house.

Some dogs are really funny about the rain and the dog raincoats and boots are just the thing to get them out for their walk.  I’m sure sold on it.

Sweaters

I have a dog that is a little particular about what she wears.  If her outfit has sleeves she just doesn’t like it very much so I try to buy dog clothes without the sleeves.  Dog vests are the best thing I found.  Some of the dog clothing out is a little binding for my picky dog.  If I put anything on her that she doesn’t like she just stands there and won’t walk.  Well, we all know that won’t work.

If you have a dog that has a little problem with some of the dog clothes, check out the vests.  They are comfy, warm and lets the dogs legs move freely.
